Anything you can do I can do… or at least try!

Published by carpediem at 4:04 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

“Anything you can do I can do better” has always been a song I’ve hummed to myself when I feel challenged, but lately I’ve decided the tune of “anything you can do I can at least try” i s more appropriate. I’m very excited to report that I attempted the 12 and finished! It took a little over 2 and 1/2 hours;s I’m not the best, but I’ve tried and accomplished my goals thus far and with great satisfaction.

When I started this journey weeks ago, I never imagined the feeling one week prior to the race. It’s a sense of pride, excitement and anticipation; yesterday I was comfortable in my quest for 13.1, today I’m confident. 12 miles was a great idea as it proved I really can do this and do it well. As I strive for my last goal on this running journey I’m hoping to run fast, but savor the experience slowly. I want to enjoy this final week, the last few runs, the all important rest days, the last meal a.k.a. carbfest and of course the start.

I’m so eager to get to Baltimore and register, in the meantime I remain very thankful for what this experience has done for me, physically and mentally, because now I’m more in shape.  Keep rooting me on, I’ll keep blogging right up until and after the big race.
